poems and prose - our dreams
Languages
I loved school. I would have gone to university, but I wanted to work and to earn.
If I went to university now, it would be languages I’d want to learn. I think that’s important, that we can converse with each other. Even more so in the world now. Children should learn to speak other languages, so that they can talk to other people in the world.
I would learn Russian. And Arabic. The women who wear the headscarves, the women who cover their faces, I’ve noticed them. I think they are very interesting. I’d like to talk to them.

The Drummer
I’ve a notion to be a drummer.
You can do anything if you try
And I’d like to try.
Just a small set of drums
Would do me fine.

A Big Dream
I’ll have to think about my ambition
A big dream.
It would be
To live for a week in the sky
Like a bird flying
Floating along.
Like a bird
Flying flying
My wings would go far and wide.
The beautiful scenery along with me.
I’d be in paradise
Up high in the air.
I’d lie along, fly along
Singing as I fly.
Up and down
I’m moving my wings.
Tell the swans to wait for me
I’m coming.
